EU Council to endorse agreement on renewable and low-carbon fuels for maritime transport

27/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 26 April, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) discussed the compromise on the regulation on the use of renewable and low-carbon fuels in maritime transport. This initiative, entitled FuelEU Maritime, was agreed with the European Parliament on the night of 22-23 March (see EUROPE 13148/7). This review took place with a view to formal adoption. The European Parliament will still have to validate the text in plenary before it is published in the Official Journal of the EU.
