European Commission raises aid ceilings to tackle regional disparities in Lithuania

On Friday 21 April, the European Commission announced that it had approved a modification of the regional aid map for Lithuania for the period 2022-2027. The review was carried out under the revised regional state aid guidelines.

This decision will increase the maximum amounts of investment aid available to identified disadvantaged territories. Thus, the maximum amounts of aid will increase from 50 to 60% of the eligible investment costs in certain parts of the Vidurio ir vakarų Lietuvos region.

These territories are located in a region eligible for support under Article 107 Section 3a of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which allows Member States to support the most disadvantaged regions. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
