€117 million in EU funding for 39 projects to restore water bodies and oceans

The European Commission announced on Friday 17 February the selection of 20 multinational projects from 39 countries contributing to the European ‘Restore our Oceans and Waters’ mission. These projects will receive €117 million as part of the EU’s framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe.

Projects include initiatives to protect and restore biodiversity, to develop the ‘European Digital Twin Ocean’ project, to combat pollution, to support a sustainable...
