06/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – Germany and Norway agreed to strengthen their energy cooperation by signing two ministerial declarations on Thursday 5 January during a visit to Oslo by the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck. One of the declarations underlines the intention of both parties to ensure a large-scale supply of hydrogen by 2030 and the aim to establish the necessary infrastructure from Norway to Germany. “Today we buy most of our natural gas from Norway, but in the future we want to import more and more offshore wind energy and hydrogen, first blue and then increasingly green”, said Habeck. In particular, Oslo and Berlin are considering the construction of a hydrogen pipeline. A feasibility study is currently underway and is expected to deliver its results in spring 2023.
