Less persistent organic pollutants in waste—European Parliament approves agreement negotiated with EU Council

04/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 4 October, the European Parliament approved (534 votes in favour, 25 against, and 66 abstentions) the provisional political agreement to set stricter concentration limits for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in waste, which was reached with the EU Council last June, so as to promote a non-toxic circular economy and protect human health as well as the environment.
