Russia thinks granting candidate status to Ukraine is an “internal European matter”

24/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 24 June, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described the European Council’s decision to grant Ukraine candidate status as an “internal European matter”. He warned that it was important that “all these processes do not cause more problems for Russia”. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was harsher, saying that the EU and NATO were assembling “such a contemporary coalition to fight and, to a large extent, wage war against Russia”....
