22/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – In the article on the follow-up in the Council of the European Union to the proposals of the Conference on the Future of Europe dated Tuesday 21 June (see EUROPE 12976/21), it should have read: “It was not a question of the EU Council taking an official position in favour of convening a Convention to revise the treaties, as the European Parliament had not made an official request on the matter, according to two national diplomatic sources”. At its plenary session, the European Parliament had twice voted in favour of convening a Convention on the basis of Article 48 of the EU Treaty (see EUROPE 12968/17). Its aim was to put pressure on Member States to take a decision before the end of the French Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2022. This precision has been added in both language versions of our publication. (MB)
