17/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – On 27 June, the ad hoc solidarity platform announced on 10 June by the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, will take place to collect the quantified commitments of Member States on the solidarity and voluntary relocation mechanism for people who are rescued at sea (see EUROPE 12969/1). The meeting was initially planned for Monday 20 June, but additional commitments in terms of figures need to be collected, explained a source. The French Presidency of the EU Council has set a target of 10,000 people per year to be cared for between Member States in the event of landings taking place in European ports. The adoption of the ‘screening’ and Eurodac regulations is linked to these solidarity commitments. Only a few Member States had provided their figures by 10 June. (SP)
