Parliament gives final approval to Europol reform

08/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – MEPs meeting in plenary gave the final go-ahead on Wednesday 8 June to grant new powers to Europol. By 470 votes to 118 with 16 abstentions, MEPs approved the agreement reached in March by European Parliament and EU Council negotiators on alerts on third-country nationals to be added to the Schengen Information System (SIS).
