01/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced on Wednesday 1 June that he would convene “a meeting in a few days” with Swedish, Finnish and Turkish “senior officials” to “ensure progress on the applications”. Travelling to the United States, Mr Stoltenberg said he intended to achieve a result before the NATO summit in Madrid on 28-30 June, saying he was “confident that we can find a way forward”. According to the Secretary General of the Alliance, Stockholm and Helsinki “have made it clear that they are ready to discuss how to address the concerns raised by Turkey”, in particular regarding the threats posed by the PKK.
