More than 20 European NGOs formed a coalition on Wednesday 1 June to demand that the European Union end the barbaric practice of killing hundreds of millions of chicks and ducklings each year.
The animal protection organisations, including GAIA, FOUR PAWS and Eurogroup for Animals, are urging the EU agriculture ministers to support a ban on the systematic shredding and gassing of male chicks and female ducklings.
