On Tuesday 17 May the French Presidency of the Council of the EU transmitted a revised compromise proposal to the Member States for the revision of the Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry Regulation (LULUCF).
According to the revised draft (see EUROPE B12928A20), it is “likely” that technical solutions, including Bio-Energy Carbon, Capture and Storage will be “necessary to increase carbon removals and secure Union-wide negative emissions over a longer period”.
