Erdoğan does not support Finland and Sweden’s membership plans

13/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Friday 13 May that his country could not support Sweden’s and Finland’s plans to join NATO because these countries are home to “many terrorist organisations”. “We are following the developments concerning Sweden and Finland, but we do not have a positive opinion”, he told media, adding that the Alliance had made a mistake in accepting Greece’s membership.
