14/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) launched, on Thursday 14 April, a public consultation on draft Guidelines on integrating the customer’s sustainability preferences in the suitability assessment under the Insurance Distribution Directive. The draft recommendations include: - helping clients to better understand the concept of ‘sustainability preferences’ and their investment choices; - the collection of information; - matching customer preferences with products. The consultation is open until Friday 13 May 2022 so that EIOPA can finalise the draft in time for the application date - 2 August 2022 - of the European Commission’s Delegated Act (EU) 2021/1257.
