22/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission’s proposal for an EU regulation on binding nature restoration targets for 2030, expected on Wednesday 23 March, will be further delayed (see EUROPE 12895/10). The entire ‘Nature’ legislative package of the European Green Deal will be postponed. The European Commission “had to re-evaluate the planning for the coming weeks, taking into account everything that needs to be adopted urgently because of the war, in order to ensure that all important issues get the political space they deserve”, said a European source, Tuesday 22 March. The COP 15 in Kunming will also be postponed, possibly to August or September. (AN)
