03/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 3 February, the European Commission opened a contribution period on the amendment of Regulation 1025/2012 on European Standardisation, in connection with the strategy on standardisation presented the day before (see EUROPE 12882/3). The aim is to reduce the influence of external actors on European standards and to provide “greater clarity” to ensure that the whole internal decision-making process of the European Standards Organisations (ESOs) is in line with “what the EU institutions expect from a standards body officially recognised as a European Standards Organisation”.
