03/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched, on Thursday 3 February, a call for evidence on an initiative to create a European toolkit to fight online and offline counterfeiting more effectively, in line with its 2020 Intellectual Property Action Plan (see EUROPE 12609/11). The specific objectives are, in particular, to specify actions to make online and offline intermediaries accountable, to strengthen cooperation between right holders, intermediaries and national and EU public authorities, and finally, to promote technological innovation to fight counterfeiting ever more effectively.
