European Commission publishes study on agri-food imports and their role in EU supply chains

21/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission published on Thursday 20 January the results of a study on the impact of food imports on EU agricultural production and other parts of the agri-food supply chain. Significant changes in agri-food imports took place between 2005 and 2018, according to the study, which adds that the impact of agri-food imports has been mainly complementary, but also competitive, “replacing EU production for a limited number of products”.
