13/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 13 January, the European Commission paid €1.9 billion to Romania as pre-financing for the ‘loan’ component of the Romanian recovery plan under the Next Generation EU Recovery Plan (see EUROPE 12799/12). Romanian authorities had already received a payment of €1.8 billion as pre-financing for the ‘grant’ component of the Recovery Plan. In total, Romania has now received 13% of its total €29.2 billion national plan, which includes €14.2 billion in grants and €14.9 billion in loans. (MB)
