MEPs concerned about new initiatives related to birth and pregnancy in Poland

A new debate on the state of the Rule of law in Poland was on the agenda of the European Parliament’s plenary session which ended on Thursday 16 December.

In particular, MEPs expressed concern about the recent questioning by the Polish Constitutional Tribunal of the role of the European Court of Human Rights (see EUROPE B12849A23) and the rule of European law (see EUROPE B12815A3).

However, many of the interventions focused on the new announcements regarding pregnancies in the country.
