Brazil challenges EU food safety criteria on poultry at WTO

15/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – Brazil requested consultations with the EU at the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 11 November. It believes that the salmonella safety criteria applied by the EU to poultry meat from Brazil are not compatible with the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures or the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).
