European long-term residential care sector has lost over 400,000 workers in two years

27/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – The long-term care sector has seen 421,000 workers leave between 2019 and 2021, according to a report published on Wednesday 27 October by the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU). The report draws four main conclusions: - Member States were very poorly prepared for a large-scale health crisis and have neglected care homes; - nursing homes are very high risk places, often very poorly equipped; - working conditions in the sector deteriorated...
