MEPs call for European Parliament to have greater involvement in drafting of employment policy guidelines

MEPs in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) are calling for greater involvement in setting employment policy guidelines, with the adoption, by simplified procedure, of the report by Lucia Nicholsonová (Renew Europe, Slovakia) on Wednesday 1 September.

They ask to be treated on an “equal footing” with the Council of the EU in the drafting of these guidelines, in order to “strengthen the democratic decision-making process”. This request was already made in the 2020...
