Slovenian EU Council Presidency puts rail and decarbonisation of transport at heart of its priorities

The Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union presented the priorities of its mandate to MEPs in the Transport and Tourism Committee on Tuesday 13 July. 

In line with the ‘Fit for 55’ package (see EUROPE B12759A2), which the European Commission will present on Wednesday and which should enable the EU to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, the Slovenian Presidency intends to focus on resilience and decarbonisation of the transport sector.
