A majority of MEPs are expected to vote in favour of the interim agreement on the ‘Climate Law’ reached with the Council of the European Union on Thursday 24 June at a mini-plenary session of the European Parliament.
The vote will be preceded by a debate on the text, which aims to enshrine the EU’s 2050 climate neutrality objective in EU law and sets a new target of ‘at least 55%’ for reducing the EU’s net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (see EUROPE B12703A1).
