EU Council to adopt conclusions on unequal impact of pandemic on men and women

On Wednesday 2 June, the national representatives to the EU (Coreper) approved draft conclusions on the socioeconomic consequences of Covid-19 on gender equality.

Member States recognise that the pandemic has exacerbated these inequalities - due to “deep-rooted gender stereotypes” - which persist in the EU, particularly in the labour market.
