28/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – Created on Wednesday 26 May from the merger of the Association d’Économie Financière (AEF) and the European Institute of Financial Regulation (EIFR), the French think tank Association Europe - Finances - Régulations (AEFR ) will be tasked with working on European financial regulation in a post-Brexit environment. The aim is to change the status quo in France by strengthening “the capacity to manufacture European thought”, EUROPE was told by AEFR President Pervenche Berès, former chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and the Committee on Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion (EMPL). The think tank will draw up position papers on financial regulation, provide a forum for reflection, act as a centre of expertise, and be the publishing house for the Revue d'Économie Financière. Members of AEFR include regulators, financial institutions and qualified persons. (MB)
