18/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – SMEunited reacted last week, in a press release, to the December 2020 vote in the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL), calling for legislative action at European level to introduce a right to disconnection (see EUROPE 12614/28). The report will be put to the vote on 20 January in plenary session. SMEunited is asking the European Parliament not to vote in favour of such a right, in order to fully respect the prerogatives of the national social partners. In addition, the employers’ organisation points out that the social partners have adopted a new autonomous framework agreement on digitalisation which also deals with the right to disconnection (see EUROPE 12511/20).
