EU disburses €400 million in macro-financial assistance to Jordan, Georgia and Moldova

25/11/2020 (Agence Europe)On Wednesday 25 November, the European Commission announced the disbursement of €250 million to Jordan, €100 million to Georgia and €50 million to Moldova under its macro-financial assistance programmes. The disbursements to Jordan and Georgia come partly from the €3 billion emergency package for ten enlargement and neighbourhood partners, which aims to help them limit the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, and partly from operations approved in April 2018 for Georgia (see EUROPE 12000/18) and in January 2020 for Jordan (see EUROPE 12394/30). The disbursement to Moldova comes entirely from the emergency aid package (see EUROPE 12545/12). The disbursement of further tranches will be conditional on fulfilling the policy conditions laid down in these documents, cautioned the Commission in its press release. (CG)
