European Parliament supports aid for workers in Galician shipbuilding sector, regarding adjustment to globalisation

20/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament approved (by 645 votes in favour, 33 against and 9 abstentions) the decision to mobilise the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help SMEs in the Galician region with €2 million. This funding should help the 960 redundancies in the Galician shipbuilding sector, which has been particularly hard hit by Asian competition, to get back to work as soon as possible.
