Covid-19, Commission refuses one-year postponement of animal health legislation requested by 15 countries

At the Agriculture Council on Monday 19 October, Ministers from 15 EU countries called for a one-year postponement of the entry into force of the new animal health rules due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. But the European Commission refused.

Regulation 2016/429 on transmissible animal diseases and amending certain acts in the field of animal health is due to enter into force on 21 April 2021.
