As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, global energy demand is expected to fall by 5% in 2020, energy-related CO2 emissions by 7% and energy investments by 18%, according to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) annual World Energy Outlook report, published on Tuesday 13 October.
According to the report, oil consumption is expected to fall by 8% in 2020 and coal use by 7%.
