Euronext buys Borsa Italiana from London Stock Exchange

09/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – Euronext will spend €4.325 billion to buy Borsa Italiana, operator of the Milan Stock Exchange, from the London Stock Exchange to form the first continental equity market, the two groups announced on Friday 9 October. Euronext already operates the stock exchanges in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Dublin and Oslo. Borsa Italiana handles a large proportion of transactions on Italy's debt, one of the highest in the euro area, AFP reported.
