Health data breach in Slovakia resolved

18/09/2020 (Agence Europe)Digital tools for Covid-19 pandemic are not without risk. According to Euractiv, the Slovak computer company Nethemba has been the victim of a personal data breach. In effect, the company reported “a critical vulnerability in the application which provides the public with information regarding the pandemic”, the site says. This vulnerability was reported to the government's cyber security agency on 13 September and has since been resolved. It did, however, result in unlimited access to the personal data of around 130,000 patients who had been tested for the virus. The data in question includes unique identifiers, dates of birth, contact information and test results.
