According to a report published on Tuesday by the European Audiovisual Observatory, between 2015 and 2018, only 22% of European feature film directors were women and the trend is even lower in audiovisual fiction, where it falls to 19%.
Among the screenwriters, the numbers are a little higher: It’s 25% for women in films and 34% in audiovisual fiction.
