According to Court, Member States must grant compensation to any victim of a violent intentional crime, including those residing in their own territory

The EU Court of Justice ruled on 16 July in Case C-129/19 (see EUROPE B12487A26) that Member States must compensate all victims of violent intentional crime. While this compensation is not required to cover the full reparation of damages, it should not be symbolic, the judges say.
