European Parliament gives go-ahead for €585 million to support refugees from Syria

10/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament approved (557 votes in favour, 72 against and 59 abstentions), on Friday 10 July, the draft amending budget (No 5 for 2020) providing €485 million to continue emergency humanitarian aid for refugees in Turkey and €100 million to support refugees and host communities in Jordan and Lebanon (see EUROPE B12514A3). The Commission proposes to mobilise the 'contingency margin' of €481.6 million, by offsetting against the margins available...
