02/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Venezuelan government has decided not to implement an earlier decision by the Maduro regime to declare the European Union ambassador to Venezuela, Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, persona non grata, according to a joint statement issued on Thursday 2 July after a telephone conversation between the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza (see EUROPE 12517/4). Both sides agree on the importance of maintaining bilateral diplomatic relations. (MB)
