Dual-use goods, NGOs concerned that Commission is climbing down too far on its 2016 proposal

In a letter dated 8 June to EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan, NGOs call on the European Commission to strengthen its position in the ongoing inter-institutional negotiations on dual-use goods (see EUROPE B12429A24, B11634A15).

These products, whose civil applications can be repurposed and can then be used to violate human rights, are subject to approval by national authorities before being exported.
