European Commission launches platform to simplify European legislation

11/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Monday 11 May the launch of a platform, called ‘Fit for Future’, to simplify European legislation. This platform thus succeeds the REFIT platform (the programme for “sharp and efficient” European regulation), which was operational from 2015 to 2019 (see EUROPE 11103/15). This new platform will be composed of a Member State think tank and a stakeholder think tank. European citizens will also be able to contribute by giving their opinion. In addition, the Commission has launched a call for applications to fill the expert groups. The deadline for submitting a nomination is 19 June.
