Iceland's Robert Spano elected President of European Court of Human Rights

21/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – Yesterday, Monday 20 April, the European Court of Human Rights announced the election of its new president, Iceland's Robert Spano, who will succeed Greece's Linos-Alexandre Sicilianos. Spano, 48, has been sitting as an Icelandic judge at the Strasbourg Court since November 2013; he was Section President from May 2017 to April 2019 and has been Vice-President since 5 May 2019.
