COVID-19, MEPs point out several ways to financially support sector

21/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education calls to not abandon the cultural and creative sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a letter sent on Monday 20 April to Commissioners Thierry Breton (Internal Market) and Mariya Gabriel (Culture), the Committee raised the idea of an emergency fund to support the media and press sector, which has seen its advertising revenue fall by up to 80% in some Member States.
