The timetable on the Just Transition Fund has been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as have many other legislative proposals on the table.
According to a provisional timetable viewed by EUROPE, on Monday 6 April, the rapporteur, Manolis Kefalogiannis (EPP, Greece), is due to present his report on 4 May. The tabling of amendments is set for 20 May and the vote in the Committee on Regional Development is scheduled for 6 July, with a plenary vote in September.
Remaining negotiations on the division of competences between committees (see EUROPE 12424/21) - in particular those on Regional Development (REGI), Budget (BUDG), Environment (ENVI) and Industry (ITRE) - a problem that needs to be resolved in the Conference of Committee Chairs (CCC), have been delayed.
However, this timetable could once again be completely disrupted by the new measures on the next Multiannual Financial Framework that the European Commission is currently working on. Proposals could be made by the institution at the end of April (see other news). (Original version in French by Pascal Hansens)
