27/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament coordination group on the future relationship between the EU and the United Kingdom held a videoconference meeting on 27 March with the Commission’s negotiating team and Michel Barnier’s deputy, Clara Martinez, according to a statement from Parliament group chair David McAllister (EPP, Germany). They discussed the British draft agreement transmitted to the EU. “The United Kingdom’s commitments and obligations must be consistent and proportionate to the level of cooperation they seek to establish with us”, the German said. “Already in the first round of negotiations, major differences emerged on fisheries, equal competition issues, police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters, and the overall governance of future relations. We must work tirelessly to find solutions to these disagreements”. (SP)
