Covid-19, ESMA updates position on supervision of securities finance transactions

26/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 26 March the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) revised its statement of 19 March on the monitoring of the application of certain provisions of the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (see EUROPE B12450A8). The updated version clarifies that, for securities financing transactions concluded between 13 April 2020 and 13 July 2020, and SFTs subject to the Regulation's 'backloading' requirement, national authorities are not...
