13/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The leaders of the EPP, S&D and Renew Europe (RE) groups in the European Parliament sent a letter, on Thursday 12 March, to the President of the European Commission asking her to present a proposal for an amending budget to increase the resources of the European Public Prosecutor's Office for 2020 (see EUROPE 12420/9). This proposal should, in their view, take into account all the costs that have not been anticipated so far as well as those that have been underestimated, such as the costs of premises security, translation costs or the costs of moving from the temporary premises to the new building. Following a meeting with Laura Codruţa Kövesi, Chief Prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, at the end of February (see EUROPE 12441/3), the European Commission has already agreed to allocate an additional funding of €3 million for the development of the European Public Prosecutor's case management system.
