22/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – Michael Manley, President of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), presented to the press on Wednesday 22 January a 10-point plan of the European car industry to help implement the European Green Deal. "Carbon neutral road transport is possible and together - with a holistic approach - we can reach it by 2050. But that also means a lot needs to change in the next few decades", he said. ACEA believes that policy makers should not impose specific technologies or ban vehicles "that can still deliver CO2 reductions". ACEA also considers that the establishment of a dense network of charging points for electric vehicles is one of the most important conditions for achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
