Syrian paediatrician wins Raoul Wallenberg Prize

16/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Raoul Wallenberg Prize 2020 has been awarded to Amani Ballour, a Syrian paediatrician who ran an underground hospital in the city of Duma, east of Damascus (in the Ghouta oasis) between 2012 and 2018. She is now a refugee in Turkey. The award ceremony will take place at the Council of Europe on Friday 17 January and will be followed by a screening of the National Geographic documentary 'The Cave', nominated for a 2020 Oscar. 17 January marks the 75th...
