13/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission said in a report, published on Friday 13 December, that Ukraine had adopted important legislation and strengthened its institutions in 2018, but that further efforts were needed, particularly to improve the business and investment climate. The report highlights progress in the fight against corruption and progress in the budget Law, customs, market deregulation, public procurement and, to some extent, health. On the other hand, reforms have remained limited in the area of intellectual property rights, and the implementation of electricity sector reform remains difficult in the current oligopolistic market structure. The Commission also emphasises the importance of the Rule of law. The EU-Ukraine Association Council will be held on Tuesday, 28 January 2020. See the report: http://bit.ly/35oWGFm (CG)
