EU Council will formally approve agreement with European Parliament on tyre labelling

13/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union will formally adopt the provisional agreement reached with the European Parliament on the revision of tyre labelling rules (1222/2009) (see EUROPE 12370/8) at the next meeting of the Member States’ Agriculture Ministers on Monday 16 December. In Parliament, the members of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) approved the agreement by a very large majority (59 in favour, 0 against and 2 abstentions) on 4 December. It will still have to be validated by the MEPs meeting in plenary session. (DG)
